Metro Water Services

Welcome to Clean Water Nashville!

cwnThe Metro Water Services team and its Citizens Advisory Committee is working to educate the community regarding Nashville's combined sewer system and Metro’s Long-Term Control Plan to minimize combined sewer overflows into the Cumberland.  A meeting was held at the East Library on February 18, 2010 and similar meetings will be held in North and West Nashville in the coming weeks. Please visit this website for meeting updates or become our facebook fan (Nashville Metro Water Services) for more meeting information.

Purpose of this Site

The purpose of this site is to provide an open forum on the Clean Water Act consent decree, a legally binding document between Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County and environmental regulators that outlines an accelerated program of activities designed to further improve water quality in the Cumberland River.

This site contains fact sheets, news releases, maps and other information regarding river water quality in Nashville, the history of our sewer system, and the steps being taken to achieve compliance with the Clean Water Act.

A hard copy of the proposed consent decree is available for review on the third floor of the Nashville Public Library (downtown location), in the Reference area.
