Important Note: Any "acceptable fill material" placed on or excavated from a parcel within Metro must comply with all applicable local regulations. The primary regulatory requirement for such activities requires that any fill or excavation on a parcel of over 100 cubic yards should secure a Metro Grading Permit prior to any land moving activities. Additionally, any amount of fill placed within a 100 year floodplain requires a Metro Grading Permit.Per the Metro Stormwater Management Manual, the definition of Appropriate Fill Material is "...Inert material no more that 24” in length consisting of soil, rock, concrete without rebar, and/or brick rubble.".
