Private Lessons
Eligibility
Private lessons are for everyone. However, for skaters below Freestyle
3 level, we recommend private lessons to supplement class instruction
rather instead of class instruction. (We do not offer class instruction
on a regular basis for levels above Freestyle 4.)
Length
Approximately 15, 20, 25, or 30 minutes depending on the your and
your instructor's preferences.
When
Private lessons are set up, by appointment only, directly
with an instructor. They are taught during public sessions (see
Public Session Schedule) and practice sessions (see Advanced Skating
Program Schedule)
Lesson Cost
Varies from approximately $7.00$35.00 (depending on
the instructor and the length of the lessons). Make lesson payments
directly to your instructor. Admission and ice time costs are additional
(see below) and are paid to the Centennial Sportsplex.
Ice Usage Cost
All skaters must always pay for ice time and admission.
This is a separate charge from your instructors fee. All skaters
must adhere to the following procedure: To pay for ice time/admission,
use an Advanced Figure Skating Program form (to buy stickers for
a group of sessions), pay the walk-on fee, use your basic class
practice card, or pay public session admission. Then, before getting
on the ice, place your sticker on the sheet by the door going onto
the ice (except for public sessions). This is very important!
Cancellations
You will be charged for all scheduled lessons for which you are
late or fail to attend without informing the instructor. Your instructor
must receive written notice of planned absences or cancellations
at least 24 hours in advance. Please call your instructor as soon
as possible if, due to sudden illness or other unplanned event,
you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson. Your instructor reserves
time exclusively for your lesson and cannot schedule a substitute
lesson without advance notice from you that you will not be attending.
Your instructor reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, change
the length of, or make up any lesson at any time. You must notify
your current instructor and settle any unpaid bills at least 24
hours before changing to another instructor.
Other Charges
Your instructor may charge extra for music selection, music editing,
coaching at test sessions, and/or travel expenses for test sessions
and competitions.
