Deaderick Streetscape Improvement Project
Metro Public Works has initiated planning for a project to update pedestrian amenities and make other improvements along Deaderick Street between 6th Avenue and 3rd Avenue in downtown Nashville.
The objective is to transform Deaderick Street into a more appealing and functional avenue for the benefit of all downtown pedestrians, while ensuring efficient traffic flow for motorists. MTA's new Music City Central transit station at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Charlotte will re-route buses off Deaderick, and presents an opportunity to create a new streetscape environment in the area.
An initial stakeholders meeting was held May 21, and a second public meeting has been scheduled for Friday, November 21st at 11:30 a.m., at the Nashville Civic Design Center, 138 Second Avenue N, Suite 106. Interested citizens and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend to provide input and participate in the redesign of this prominent downtown corridor. Pertinent information and details will also be posted on this website as the project proceeds.
