MUSIC ROW
ROUNDABOUT
Nashville’s Music Row Roundabout located at the western terminus of Demonbreun Street serves as the city’s Gateway to Music Row. It opened in 2001 and replaced a confusing tangle of intersections with a modern traffic circle that has enhanced traffic movement through the area.
RULES OF THE ROAD

The following rules will help you successfully navigate the Music Row Roundabout.
TOP 10 RULES OF THE ROAD:
- Slow down! Treat the Roundabout as a school zone. The appropriate (and posted!) speed for merging and traveling the Roundabout is 15 MPH.
- Yield to pedestrians! They have the right-of-way in designated crosswalks surrounding the Roundabout. Pedestrians and joggers must wait for a safe gap in traffic before crossing the street, and are prohibited from using the landscape island as a “waiting” area.
- Vehicles in the Roundabout have the right-of-way! When approaching the Roundabout yield line, always yield to traffic circulating from the left and already in the circle. Wait for a gap in traffic before entering.
- All lanes of entry and exit are one-way separated by a splitter island. All traffic in the Roundabout travels around the landscape island in a counter-clockwise direction.
- The Roundabout is designed for a single lane of traffic with room to merge or move to the side in case of an accident or vehicle breakdown.
- Bicyclists use the same rules as vehicles.
- Always watch for other users in the Roundabout. Watch for traffic crossing in front of you. Do not pass buses, delivery trucks or other large vehicles since they may have to swing wide before, during and after entering the Roundabout.
- Always use your right turn signal when leaving the Roundabout.
- If you miss your exit, continue circling until you reach your desired street. Remember: Once in the Roundabout, you have the right-of-way.
- 10.When exiting, do not accelerate until you are beyond the pedestrian
crosswalk.

Maintain a reduced speed and stay to the inside of the circle until you are ready to exit the roundabout. Traffic always moves counter-clockwise, and drivers inside the roundabout have the right-of-way.
