Metro Health Department Receives Full Shipment of Flu Vaccine
To Reopen Fast Track Flu Shot Clinic November 15th
Flu Shots Will Be Offered to General Public Without Restrictions

NASHVILLE, Tenn., November 14, 2005 – The Metro Public Health Department will reopen its Fast Track Clinic beginning at 8 a.m. November 15, after receiving the remaining 9,400 doses of flu vaccine.

The Health Department will offer flu shots for a $10 fee (Medicare Part B is accepted). Flu shots will be available at the Health Department’s Fast Track Clinic from 8 a.m. –3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday in the Lentz Public Health Center auditorium. The Lentz Public Health Center is located at 311 23rd Avenue North. Flu shots are offered on a walk-in basis.

The Health Department recommends those who are 65 years of age and over, and those who have chronic disease should get a flu shot. The best available protection against influenza during the flu season is to get a flu shot.

The Health Department gave more than 10,000 flu shots at the Lentz Health Center during October.
