Hillary's Entry Planning Dept. designer places in "Nashville 2054" competition

Design studio manager Hilary Kahnle and husband Michael Kahnle placed second in the Nashville Civic Design Center's "Nashville 2054" design competition with an entry addressing redevelopment of Nashville's downtown riverfront. "Judges were impressed," says the Design Center's announcement, "with the innovative vision expressed in this entry." Judges considered artistic merit and illustration of the Plan of Nashville's basic principles in making that award; this and other winning entries are on display at the Civic Design Center's office in Butler's Run, 138 Second Avenue North.

Commissioners will discuss the Commission's rules and procedures; the work session will be held in the Green Hills Room at Metro Southeast, 1417 Murfreesboro Pike, and will begin at 4:30 pm or immediately after the Commission's regular meeting, whichever is later.

Discussion during MeetingNorth Nashville public meetings continue March 18

The next public discussion of an updated North Nashville Community Plan will be held from 3-5 pm and again from 6-8 pm Thursday, March 18, at Hopewell Baptist Church, 908 Monroe Street; that meeting will concentrate on the Buena Vista, Germantown, Salemtown, Metro-Hume and East Germantown neighborhoods. This is one of a series of public meetings which are being held to gather community input on a scheduled update to the North Nashville Community Plan, which guides North Nashville's growth, preservation, and development. Details and a full schedule of upcoming meetings are on our North Nashville community update page.

Papers and Maps Codes proposes new fee structure

Legislation which would increase fees for permits and reviews has been submitted for consideration by the Metropolitan Council. Details and related documents are on the Codes & Regulations section of the Development Services page.
