RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-576 -- A resolution requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to introduce and enact the necessary legislation to fund and complete the installation of a center turn lane designated for State Route 24 (Lebanon Pike) from Stewart’s Ferry Pike to Disspayne Drive to improve mobility and reduce delay associated with left turning vehicles.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-575 -- A Resolution supporting efforts pursuing dedicated funding for public transportation in the Nashville Region.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-574 -- A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee, by and through the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, to accept grant funds to be distributed between the various counties in Urban Area/ Homeland Security District 5 for homeland security projects.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-573 -- A resolution approving an application for a 2008 Homeland Security Grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, for homeland security projects.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-572 -- A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, for reimbursement of expenses related to Operation SLOT.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-571 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the Target Corporation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to purchase global positioning units (GPS) and digital cameras for the Hermitage Precinct Flex Unit.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-570 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to enhance the enforcement of the driving under the influence initiative to reduce traffic fatalities.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-569 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the United States Department of Justice to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police, Sheriff, and Parks Departments for fifty percent of the funding for 35 bulletproof vests.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-568 -- A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Army Reserve and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to provide for joint recruitment efforts.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-567 -- A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Human Services to the Metropolitan Action Commission for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to provide financial assistance with heating/cooling costs including funds available to leverage against non-federal sources for eligible customers.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-566 -- A resolution approving a grant agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Public Works Department, for construction/repair on the Dry Creek Bridge on Dry Fork Road under the State Aid Bridge Program, Project No. 19-455-3408-04.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-565 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to make resources available for on the job training of new and existing Asurion employees (09-09-FY9-2FT-STATE).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-564 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide treatment for 15 non-violent methamphetamine addicts to be housed at the Davidson County Drug Court residential program.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-563 -- A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the State Trial Courts, for mediation services for divorce cases involving minor children.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-562 -- A resolution appropriating the amount of $375,000.00 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment and building repairs for the Department of General Services of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-561 -- A resolution appropriating the amount of $1,000,000.00 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment and building repairs for the Nashville Public Library of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-560 -- A resolution appropriating the amount of $500,000.00 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the purchase of equipment and building repairs for the Nashville Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-554 -- A resolution requesting the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County to sign the T. Boone Pickens’ Energy Independence Plan pledge and encourages everyone to support this plan.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-553 -- A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Planning Department to develop a plan for the equitable distribution of affordable housing throughout Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-552 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to consider the introduction and support of legislation that would require ninety days written notice to a homeowner prior to a lender initiating foreclosure proceedings.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-551 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County for the purchase and removal of 4802, 4806, 4810 Milner Drive and 373 Wimpole Drive which lie in repetitively flooded areas.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-550 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an application for the Coca Cola Recycling Bins Grant from the Coca Cola Company to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-549 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) Authorizing the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to participate in the Local Government Energy Efficiency Loan Program to be administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and for the Metropolitan Mayor to sign all documents to apply for, receive and administer the program funding.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-548 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an application for the LE Grant from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the investigation of prescription drug diversion cases.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-547 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant/ approving a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to support port-wide risk management for the Port of Nashville.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-546 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving a contract for services by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and United Neighborhood Health Services to operate a substance abuse treatment program for homeless clients at the Homeless Clinic Facility.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-545 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving a clinical affiliation agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and Tennessee State University to provide clinical experience for students enrolled in the School of Nursing Program.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-544 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for drug and alcohol abuse services.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-543 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to support the delivery of public health services.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-542 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide rapid HIV testing services to 3,500 at risk individuals in a clinical setting.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-541 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving a data use agreement by and between Vanderbilt University Medical Center and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-540 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide tobacco use prevention services.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-539 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to coordinate resources and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of workforce services in Workforce Development Area Nine.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-538 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, for programs to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force (09-09-FY9-409-DSLWK).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-537 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to establish programs and deliver services to increase occupational skill attainment for Bridgestone employees. RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-536 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare adults for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment (09-09-FY9-209-ADULT).

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-535 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving the Benefit Board’s waiver of repayment of disability pension benefit overpayments for George Coleman under Section 3.08.230 of the Metropolitan Code.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-534 -- (Approved 11/18/2008) A resolution approving an application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency.

RS2008-519 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle Antwand and Lashawn Covington’s claims against the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $12,000.00, and that said amount be paid out of the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-518 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Lamont J. Bell against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $165,000.00, and that said amount be paid out of the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-504 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Saint Thomas Health Services Fund d/b/a Safety Net Consortium of Middle Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to reduce socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in Type 2 diabetes in adults.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-503 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to reduce the risk of adolescent diabetes by focusing on obesity prevention through physical activity.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-502 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide primary care services to uninsured adults at the Downtown Clinic for the Homeless.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-501 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide nutritious food to low-income clients vulnerable to inadequate nutrition.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-500 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide nutritional education and services to eligible women, infants, and children of Davidson County.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-499 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution authorizing the implementation of an incentive program for employees enrolled in the self-insured medical plans of the Metropolitan Government to utilize the services and medical facilities of the Metropolitan Hospital Authority.

RS2008-497 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, for the totally outstanding youth advocates for the library program.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-496 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution approving an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to reimburse the Metropolitan Government for aid provided to Hurricane Gustav evacuees.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-495 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution approving an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, and Robertson County, Tennessee, to allow the Sheriff’s Office to house a limited number of Robertson County detainees.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-494 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, for the construction of additional correctional capacity at the Metropolitan Detention facility.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-493 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution approving the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant from the United States Department of Justice to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide agencies with the flexibility to prioritize and place justice funds where they are needed most.

RS2008-492 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, for the provision of Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program Services to enhance court staffing and pretrial services.

RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-491 -- (Adopted 10/21/2008) A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, for general operating support of the Arts Commission.
