METRO SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT ON ONLINE ACCESS TO GOVERNMENT
Nashville.gov Internet strategy meeting scheduled for Dec. 3
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 11, 2009) -
Metro Nashville government officials are looking for ways to better communicate with citizens in the Internet age and requests feedback from Nashville citizens on how Nashville.gov can offer enhanced services and capabilities.
The Metro Nashville Information Technology Services (ITS) department is gathering community input through an online survey at www.nashville.gov/its. ITS will also be hosting a public meeting on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Metro Southeast office building, 1417 Murfreesboro Pike. Feedback gathered through the survey and at the meeting will be used to direct Metro’s Internet strategy for the coming years.
“Nashville.gov has been a great asset to the city,” Keith Durbin, chief information officer for Metro Government, said. “The Internet provides an incredible tool for Metro Government to communicate with citizens and for citizens to interact with Metro departments. We’d like citizen’s to recommend ways to make Internet-based communications more effective, whether through Nashville.gov, through social media outlets like Facebook, or other new capabilities.”
Responses received through the survey and the public meeting will be available to the public by Dec. 31, 2009.
