Workplace Violence

It is the intention of the Metropolitan Government to create a productive, safe and healthy work environment for all employees and members of the general public and to provide for the efficient and effective operation of Metro's activities. The Metropolitan Government will not tolerate verbal or physical conduct by an employee that harasses, disrupts, or interferes with another's work performance or which creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment. All allegations of violence and harassment will be investigated and, if found to be true, may result in disciplinary action.

Employees are prohibited from carrying weapons on Metro property unless required to do so pursuant to the employee's job description. Employees who are required as part of their job to carry a weapon must complete training and periodic re-training as required by Metro.
