Greenways Review Of Subdivision And Development Proposals
The Greenways division of Metro Parks reviews all subdivision/development plans that are submitted to the Planning Commission or Stormwater Management Committee for properties located on the seven main water corridors of Davidson County (Cumberland River, Harpeth River, Mill Creek, Seven Mile Creek, Stones River, Richland Creek, and Whites Creek).
The purpose of the review and comment is to protect the floodway plus a 75' subdivision buffer, including the 50' stormwater buffer, for conservation of green space and natural features and for trail development opportunities. The staff also provides information on how developments can incorporate greenways, be connected to the countywide greenway system, and build trails according to Metro's design standards.
Anyone seeking approval of plans by the Planning Commission or Stormwater Management Committee affecting the water corridors should provide site plans to the Greenways division staff, at Metro Parks at 862-8400 or by email to: sherry.walker@nashville.gov.
