    Governing is a monthly magazine aimed at state and local government officials. It has a circulation of about 85,000. They annually publish The State and Local Sourcebook, which is a compendium of data grouped into the following areas: Economic Development, Education, Environment, Finance, Management, Public Safety, Public Works, Social Services, and Technology.

    The Sourcebook will be useful in two ways. First, it provides links to a variety of policy-oriented, state and local organizations. Such organizations are a valuable source of information for assessing emerging issues and trends, as well as serving as sources for comparative data. Second, the “Sourcebook” links, will acquaint info seekers with the various sources of government information and their web addresses.
