Where Does the Data Come From?
The majority of the data presented in the FY06 Performance Report and the Citizen’s Guide to Metro’s Budget was collected and reported by the departments/agencies of the Metro Government using goals and key operational measures they created in their strategic business plans. Other data provided by the department came from other sources. A small portion of the data presented was provided by outside organizations, including state and federal governments and independent research organizations. When data from a source outside of Metro has been used, that source is noted.
Most of the data represented on this site and in the FY06 Performance Report is for the fiscal year 2006, which ran from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. Some of the data presented is from other time periods, such as the calendar year 2006, or from previous years for comparison purposes. Where data presented is not from FY2006, its time period is noted.
The budget figures for each department are the final budgets for the departments and funds included in the FY06 operating budget as reported in the FY2006 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The population figure used in per capita calculations comes from the 2000 U.S. Census, which lists Metro’s population as 569,891.
