CE – Constellation Energy - The nation’s leading supplier of competitive electricity to large commercial and industrial customers. CE is the parent company of Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group.
CNDE – Constellation Nashville District Energy, LLC – the entity that operates the Metro Nashville District Energy system.
CEPS - Constellation Energy Projects & Services Group (formerly Constellation Energy Source) - the company selected to design, build, operate, and maintain the new district energy system to serve downtown Nashville
DES - District Energy System - provides heating and cooling from a central plant to multiple users
EDS - Energy Distribution System - the network of supply and return pipes used to circulate the hot and chilled water to customers and the metering systems used to monitor their usage of the system
EGF - Energy Generation Facility - the central plant where fuel is burned to create steam for heat and air conditioning production for a district energy system
Metro - Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County - the local governing body
MNDES - Metropolitan Nashville District Energy System - the system that provides heating and cooling from a central plant to multiple buildings in downtown Nashville
MDHA - Metro Development and Housing Agency - the agency from which Metro acquired the land on which to construct the new energy generation facility
NTTC - Nashville Thermal Transfer Corporation - a not-for-profit organization established in 1970 to build, own, and operate the original Nashville district energy system
