Project Homeless Connect will kick-off in Nashville with an all-day event at Municipal Auditorum on Dec. 2. The event will bring together over 40 service providers that assist homeless individuals and families.
The annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place on the Public Square near the intersection of Second Avenue and Union Street in downtown Nashville on Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. The Nashville Christmas Parade will follow at 7 p.m.
Metro has contracted with Nashville-based EarthSavers to pilot a curbside recycling program for residents in the General Services District. Bellevue residents can now sign-up online for service to start in early 2009.
Nashville Teaching Fellows is now seeking applicants. The program is a partnership between Metro Schools and The New Teacher Project, a national non-profit being funded in Nashville by Mayor Karl Dean’s Education First Fund.
On Feb. 17, 2009, full power broadcast stations will start broadcasting in digital format only. Visit www.dtv.gov to find out whether or not you will be impacted by the DTV transition.
